The Andre Hellers Anima Garden is a place of rest and contemplation, somewhere to draw new energy and inspire and stimulate fresh ideas. You’ll come face-to-face with Rhodin’s thinker, lost in contemplation and facing away from a rusty ark, which symbolises the current refugee crisis. At the centre of an Asian-style pavilion, you’ll find a fountain full of fresh, colourful, fragrant flowers. There is also a giant mosaic head in the middle of a sea of palm trees.

The café in the Anima Garden is named after the American writer, Paul Bowles, who lived and worked in Morocco for half a century. Enjoy fresh, local ingredients in the form of fruit juices, teas, and Moroccan pastries.

Practical Information

The Anima Garden has regular shuttle bus services to and from Marrakech. The collection point is the “Lavage la Koutoubia” car park, behind the famous Koutoubi. The journey takes about 40 minutes. The Anima Garden also hosts regular cultural.

Opening Hours and Entrance Fees:

The Anima Garden is open all year round from 9am to 6pm, except during the Aid holidays. Entrance fees are as follows: adults: MAD 120,-/EUR 12,-; children 12-16 years of age: MAD 60,-/EUR 6,-; and children under 11: free.

Location:

The Anima Garden is located 27 km outside of Marrakech in the Ourika Valley. It can be easily reached via a free shuttle service from Marrakech’s “Lavage la Koutoubia” car park, which is behind the famous Koutoubia Mosque.
